Your Victorian Christmas tour of the Schlitz Mansion will begin in the reception hall that features embossed leather wainscoting and ceiling panels from the 1890s.

Join the Milwaukee District Garden Clubs and their members at the historic Schlitz Mansion on Saturday, Dec. 20, 2025. Opened to the public for the first time during the holiday season, the Schlitz Mansion is decorated by its owners in the Victorian style. 

John Shaeffer and Tim Baack purchased the Schlitz Mansion about 12 years ago. They have lovingly restored the mansion to its original splendor. John and Tim welcome us into their home and will be our tour guides – highlighting the holiday decorations, some of their renovations and the history of the mansion.

You'll begin your tour in the reception hall with embossed leather wainscoting and ceiling panels done by the German craftsmen in the 1800s. There is a Christmas tree in every room – the sparkly icicle tree in the ladies parlor is unforgettable. During your one-hour tour look for ??? Other Christmas highlights include...?

TICKETS

• $25 for adults and children
• Tours will run every hour, and only 20 tickets will be available each hour
• Available only online 
• The email confirmation receipt is your ticket for admission
• Are non-refundable
• Will go on sale in mid-November

PARKING

• Street parking is available in front of the mansion – on both sides of Highland Avenue.
• Parking is also available on N. 20th Street which is on the left side of the mansion.

MORE INFORMATION

• The mansion is not handicapped accessible.
• Large purses or bags, backpacks and other big items such as strollers will not be allowed.
• Bringing young children is discouraged. However, if you do, then please hold the child's hand throughout the tour.
