Milwaukee District Garden Clubs members will gather at 1:30pm Friday, July 12 at South 89th and West Schlinger Avenue, in West Allis to dedicate an ADA Bench and plant three trees on the Hank Aaron Trail.
As MDGC Director, Diane Olsen's project the last four years has been to help develop the Hank Aaron Trail. Under Diane's leadership, MDGC raised funds for the ADA bench and three native American Plum trees to be planted near the bench. Constructed of recycled plastic lumber. the bench will have a plaque commemorating the MDGC donation. The Department of Natural Resources will maintain the area around the bench and water the plum trees. |

Established in 1932, the Milwaukee District Garden Clubs (MDGC) is a member of the Wisconsin Garden Club Federation (WGCF) and the National Garden Clubs, Inc. (NGC), which is the largest gardening organization in the world. The NGC consists of eight regions, and Wisconsin is part of the Central Region. Wisconsin is divided into six districts, with the counties of Dodge, Jefferson, Kenosha, Milwaukee, Ozaukee, Racine, Walworth, Washington and Waukesha in the MDGC.
