The Milwaukee District Garden Clubs' fall meeting is set for Tuesday, Oct. 24 at the Kenosha Tap House which is located on the picturesque Kenosha harbor. The Tap House opened this summer and is receiving great reviews. Learn more about it HERE.
All members in the district are invited to attend, and we'll be recognizing our VIP members. We are pleased to have Pam Holy, President of the Chiwaukee Prairie Foundation, as our guest speaker. Pam will talk about the preservation of the Chiwaukee Prairie, an ecologically diverse and virgin prairie in southeast Wisconsin. Lunch will include a build-your-own salad and a choice of flatbreads and beverages. Mark your calendars to attend. Download the save the date flyer HERE. The meeting and registration details will be coming soon. |
The deadline to register for the Milwaukee District Garden Clubs' Living Art Frame Workshop is 8pm, Wednesday, Sept. 13. Our workshop coordinators need a week to order plant material and prepare for the workshop.
The succulent workshop is set for 10am to 12pm on Thursday, Sept. 21 at Boerner Botanical Gardens. A district fund raiser, the workshop is being coordinated by our 2nd Vice Director, Nicholas Lemus. We are so pleased to have the talented Nancy Cody as our workshop instructor. Nancy is a certified floral designer, the owner of Rose and Twig Floral Design and President of the Garden Club of Greater Milwaukee. Nancy and her helpers will assist you in creating a unique art frame filled with succulents. Nancy says this indoor living frame is easy to care for and she will discuss care and propagation during the workshop. The cost of the workshop is $60 per person and includes a handmade frame, all of the plant materials and a portion for the MDGC. As a special bonus, Nancy has added a fall pumpkin decoration with moss, succulents and dried flowers for anyone who would like to make one. Registration and payments for the workshop are online. When you fill in your order form, please let us know what garden club you are a member of. You will receive an email receipt that will be your ticket to the workshop. Space is limited to 32 people and we are unable to give refunds. If for some reason you are unable to attend, consider selling or giving your ticket to a friend. If you have any questions about the workshop or our online registration, please contact us HERE. Don't miss this fun workshop. Download a PDF flyer to learn more or just sign up HERE now.
